The Emotionally Destructive Marriage
"How to find your voice and reclaim your hope." by Leslie Vernick. This book brings insight into what God intended marriage to be. The author has done Biblical research and uses Biblical references to help you navigate your own circumstances. This book was key to me finding my way out of an unhealthy marriage.
Transitions start with an ending, and Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt writes about the divorce transition and going through 10 essential touchstones for finding hope and healing your heart. This text also has a companion journal available.
Divorce is a business, and professionals across many industries are getting trained to handle the nuances of the transactions at hand in a divorce settlement. Mortgage, real estate, financial planners, coaches, mediators, therapists, etc., have their own divorce designation to add to their credentials and specialize in helping you on this journey. Look up these professionals in your area, as the training and empathy they will provide are key during this emotional transition.
