I am a member of each of these groups as navigating divorce is a complex and emotional journey, but specialized services like the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, CDC Certified Divorce Coach®, Rebuilders International, LLC, and The Divorce Transition Professionals aim to simplify the process. These organizations offer a range of resources, from legal advice and financial planning to emotional support and coaching. By providing a holistic approach to divorce recovery, they aim to make the experience more manageable and set the stage for a healthier future.
Certified Divorce Coach®
The CDC Certified Divorce Coach® program offers a specialized coaching certification aimed at helping individuals navigate the complexities of divorce. The program, which is the only one of its kind to offer a regulated certification, provides live, interactive training and covers divorce-related scenarios, led by experts from multiple disciplines. The CDC® also emphasizes the global recognition of its certification marks, stating that their coaches are trained to a higher standard and are part of an online community for ongoing support.
Divorce Transition Professionals
The Divorce Transition Professionals (DTP) is a network that aims to make the divorce process "Just a Little Bit Easier" by offering a range of professional support services. Originally formed in 2008 as a study group, DTP has expanded to over 200 members across 15 chapters in three states—California, Texas, and Illinois—with more chapters in formation. The network provides a wide array of services including legal, financial, accounting, real estate, mental health, and coaching support, among others.
Divorce Support Groups
I've been chosen as the facilitator for the Central Coast of California, covering communities from Santa Maria to San Luis Obispo. I'll be launching in-person classes soon. The Rebuilders offer a 40-year-old comprehensive divorce recovery program designed to help people transition from divorce in weeks, not years. The program emphasizes emotional well-being, mindset, and identity, offering a range of resources, including group classes, one-on-one coaching, e-courses, and free self-assessments, all guided by expert facilitators.
San Luis Obispo County Bar Association
The San Luis Obispo County Bar Association (SLOCBA) serves the needs of attorneys and the people of San Luis Obispo County. The association offers membership benefits such as access to continuing education, networking events, and opportunities to serve the local community. They also provide a variety of resources for both attorneys and the public, including an attorney directory and upcoming legal events.
